Mi Tierra Mexican Restaurant in Chicago

I called to see if it was possible to get trays of food, Manager Jorge took care of me. I can see why he is a manager, he was very welcoming and willing to take my big order. Jorge was AWESOME on the phone and even better in person. The atmosphere was like in Mexico. My family loves their food. I left really happy! They have their own private lots. Security directs you to your parking spot. They help me get out of a tight parking spot. It gets really busy in there but everyone seem to be enjoying themselves. I want to celebrate my Birthday here! Love the music and I love to dance!

My experience entailed great food and atmosphere. Mi Tierra has an awesome patio that can accommodate many, with adequate social distancing.

Hands down my favorite Mexican food I've had in the chicago area. Delicious, and a great atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly here, and they have live mariachi.

Extremely helpful staff. Special dietary needs were met vis the waiting staff, kitchen and management. Excellent options. Live music available. Parking available.

Amazing place! I know that they close it for a while but when they re open it. Yes they got me into the drinks and food. The food has a stunning taste as well as the cocktails. When I went, the place was packed with birthday parties and the service was amazing. I would love to go back!

Beautiful,huge facility. Food was very good if on the expensive side. Live music, lots of free parking. A great place to have a party or gathering of some kind.

It was our first time here and the atmosphere was fantastic. The food and service was great. Not to mention the drinks too, they were really good. Our waitress was very attentive and polite, such a lovely person. The only downside for me was how extremely loud the music was. You can't have a continuous conversation with your friends/family and we all had to repeat our order around five times because our waitress couldn't hear us either. They should work on that.

We were here for our Graduation party (Malcolm X). The food was good, but the drinks and customer service were better.

Service was surprisingly fast and accurate, in spite of the crowd that filled the restaurant. Delicious, fresh, free tortilla chips and salsa. Live music from mariachi band, and a female singer performance that moved a good number of people to the dance floor. I would definitely recommend it.

Food is well presented and the atmosphere for any wonderful and color dinner scene

Went on a weekend wanting to find a mariachi to sing las mañanitas for my daughter but they weren't there. Our waiter Dante made the best out of it by singing happy bday with other coworkers and turned out great . Dante gave us the best service super friendly and made sure we were good at all time. Highly recommend to ask for him as your waiter.

I love their tacos and the drinks were good as well. They raised their prices a little bit but I will still visit occasionally.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is nothing like it once was before it closed and reopened. We had the worst experiences here tonight that we ever have had at any other restaurant. Our server, Luz Elisa, Was rude from start to finish. She consistently got our order wrong, tried to convince us to eat what we did NOT order, and laughed as we tried to explain to her that the fish we had ordered was UNDERCOOKED. She hardly checked on us, didn’t bring us what we needed or asked for, and would be gone for 15-20 min at a time. This place used to be one of our favorites and a staple in my community. Now I can say we will never be visiting again. It was sad to see that even on a Saturday night at 8pm, the restaurant was only able to barely fill one dining room area, the other completely empty. Thank you Ricardo, the manager that had to take some time to fix her failures, but she clearly did not deserve her gratuity.

Excellent service and beautiful plates! We went for a Buchanan’s tasting dinner and were not disappointed. Will absolutely be back for the regular menu! Thanks for Ricardo for hosting an enticing evening we’ll definitely remember!

My family and I have been going here for years. Great atmosphere with live music on weekends including a marriachi that goes around to play for anyone interested. It might be a bit too noisy for some people so if you go make sure to ask them to put you in a quieter spot. The service has always been top notch and for the most part the food is good. I wouldn't say great but good. Would recommemd for family celebrations.

Awsome totally food and service and ambiance

This was our first time here. We liked the decor inside. The nachos appetizer was very good and so were the chiles rellenos. It definitely started getting busy after 5pm on a Saturday, we made reservations ahead of time. The only thing that would be a negative is that they didn't have horchata, which is odd for a Mexican restaurant.

Long wait to enter but that is to be expected. They did invent the wing after all. Cool motorcycles make for cool viewing inside the restaurant. Good food!

Nice atmosphere! Wait staff is good a little slow at times because its more tables than waitress. The food is good. Chicken has flavor and the steak is tender. Definitely have a margarita there!!

Get the queso and chips, funny friendly staff, a sketch artist solicited me to draw my fiance and I kind of awkward. The place is huge and the food is tasty.

Very nice afternoon meal. The decor is very nice, our waitress was very pleasant. I really enjoyed the chicken enchiladas.

This place is always packed and it's no surprise why! While it can be pricey, the food is great and the vibe is awesome! They have a mix of live music, dancing, and mariachi! It's always a fun time to go, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion like a birthday etc. The staff is nice, due to long wait times, a reservation is highly recommended, but worth the wait!

Such an amazing time and delicious food here. Drinks not so much so stick to a fountain drink instead of alcohol or their sangria because it was just not good. They had a live Mariachi that was charging something like 30 bucks a song. Then had some live singing that engaged with everyone and a small dance floor that people actually got up to dance for. Large parties are thrown here so it's definitely packed and loud but a good time.

Place is excellent. The service, the shows,the food, like wow what else can I say? I really recommend it worth the price, it's just delish but overall the attention from the waitress was great! Forgot her name but she was colombian with black hair. Keep doing what ur doing girl. 😊👌🏼

We came to this place for a meeting. my friend recommended this place. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place a lot and we shall absolutely come back again. Keep it up.

This restaurant is very lively. The live music was great and they gave sparklers and sombreros to everyone celebrating a birthday. Food and service were good. I highly recommend the huachinango. We felt like we traveled from Chicago to Mexico. We will definitely go back.

Restaurant is great for special occasions. Its definitely not going to be the cheapest Mexican restaurant you've been to.

Poor service. Food like warm. Charged for fountain drink refills but never let us know. Not worth the trip.

I feel that the atmosphere was awesome, and I also really enjoyed the food. The staff was helpful and understanding. I really enjoyed it with the family and could say I will be going back and with the family more often.

We had a reservation and were seated promptly. However, the service was slow and the waiter was rushing when we would order. He would walk away without giving us a chance to complete our orders. It was an hour and a half from the time we ordered our plates until the time we received them. The food was good though. The live music was fun however too loud to be able to carry on a conversation. Food was absolutely great! Went for my birthday. Mariachi and cumbia music was amazing!! I can't wait to come back to "Mi Tierra la Villita".

When I sat down the first thing I noticed was the plate and glass were dirty with stuck on food. I ordered a bean burrito and the waitress acted like she had never heard of such a thing. It came with packaged lettuce in it, the kind with cabbage and carrots mixed in! No horchata! What kind of authentic Mexican restaurant doesn't have horchata? I would never go back. There are far better options close by.

Has good vibes. Live music can be loud, but its not so annoying since they move around not just stay in one place. They have a dance floor which helps lose the weight you might gain from eating here. Food is good, has a good variety on the menu. Also not long waits on Saturday night.

Great staff, Luz was hard working friendly and helpful. Not so busy at 3 pm. An artist solicited his drawing services while we were at the table weird flex but okay. Huge place for parties and enough alcohol for a turn up.

Food was not as great as you expect from a Mexican restaurant in la Villita. My kids wanted some horchata and were told they don't have any. What Mexican restaurant doesn't serve horchata??!! Waitress offered us non alcoholic margaritas! Music was great though!
